Eagles set to headline 2010 ACL Music Festival

From the time music fans waded out of the Dillo Dirt sludge at last year’s mud-soaked ACL weekend, they were already dreaming about the next year’s lineup. This year’s festival, scheduled for Oct. 8-10, now has 113 bands confirmed. Old timers and young rock aficionados alike will be pleased to see groups like The Eagles and Phish joining this year’s lineup. Full story

SEU alum competes on MTV reality show

To be a contestant on MTV’s “Real World/Road Rules Challenge” requires physical and mental preparation. The show is known for intense challenges that test the limits of the players involved. This season will bring a contestant who is a familiar face to the St. Edward’s community: 24-year-old Noor Jenhangir, a St. Edward’s alumnus and former St. Edward’s soccer player. Jenhangir graduated in December 2007 and majored in marketing. Read what he had to say about everything from the audition process to the drama that took place on the show.

Fest brings reggae fans

Reggae lovers were not perturbed by the overcast weather April 17, day two of the Austin Reggae Festival. Despite heavy showers that morning, festival-goers were treated to a rain-free afternoon with the occasional rays of sunlight slipping through to bake the soggy, muddy ground.

Girl Talk plays Forty Acres Fest

Girl Talk and White Denim performed a free show at the University of Texas’ Forty Acres Fest. The festival, held on April 10, took place on a cold night, but there was plenty of body heat on the main mall of UT campus, filled with thousands of music enthusiasts.

Students' radio hits the air

Music has been a part of their lives since they can remember. Now, they’re taking the next step and letting their creativity run wild. Sophomore Jamie Aldridge can’t remember what it was she liked about music from the beginning. Sophomore Alex Simons remembers singing and playing the piano at age 4.  They are two very different people, but they possess the same passion for music.
