In a world full of beauty blogs loaded with products that would take the average person an entire day’s worth of salary to afford, it’s refreshing to come across helpful posts that talk about inexpensive, quality drugstore products. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got other things to spend my money on other than a $50 mascara. I think I can save those guilty pleasures for my Christmas list … Mom?

While I do tend to shy away from some drugstore products such as foundation, you can bet that I’m not afraid of picking up anything else I find appealing; it’s just all so tempting. And let’s be honest, when you’re wearing a drugstore eye shadow, lipstick, or mascara, chances are if you told someone you were wearing Chanel, they would believe you.

Number one on my drugstore makeup list is lip products because there are some really great ones out there lining the shelves of Wal Mart. In fact, some drugstore lip products and I have gotten really close to the point that they’ve become glued to my purse because I can’t go without them.

Here are some of my favorite drugstore lip products on the market:

Revlon Lip Butters – These beauties have become a makeup world favorite for a couple of reasons. For one, they are extremely creamy and moisturizing, making them good for more of an everyday lip product. They’re easy to apply and don’t require a mirror, meaning your occasional iPhone screen check-outs will do just perfectly.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss – These lipsticks come in two different formulas: original creamy and matte. Both formulas come in a wide range of colors, are super long lasting, don’t dry out the lips, and go for about $5 at your local drugstore. Plus, Kate’s signature is printed on the side, making these all the more glamorous. My favorite shade is currently one in the matte finish, shade 107 specifically, which is a perfect color for autumn!

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains  – Yep, another Revlon product (can you tell that Rimmel and Revlon are my faves?). These crayon-like lip pencils were all the craze when the Clinique Chubby Sticks first came out, and I love that drugstore brands have created similar products for less than half the price. These have more of a matte finish than a glossy look, but that makes for a more long-lasting formula.

As for now, I’m getting ready for next week’s blog post where I will be adventuring over to the blush side. Stay tuned …
