Surprise! Beyonce has announced the release of a joint deluxe-album with Jay Z that drops in nine months. Well not exactly, but she did just announce on Instagram that she’s pregnant with twins.

Yes, it is amazing. Let it sink in. Beyonce is having not one, but two more bouncing Blue Ivys. Think of all the commotion that came from her first pregnancy announcement (after she sang “Love On Top” at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards) and double it.

Her pregnancy reveal is definitely on a path to break the Internet, with both Twitter and Instagram reporting record levels of activity regarding Beyonce and her pregnancy. At its peak, Twitter revealed that over 17 thousand tweets a second were being made, with a half million in total, all within the first hour of her Instagram post. All the hype showed on the trending tags where five of the ten top trends were related to Beyonce, including the first spot.

On Instagram, her post received an average 1 million likes per hour for the first eight hours, and with good reason. In the picture, the Queen can be seen kneeling in front of a giant flowery wreath, wearing a long veil and cradling her clearly-visible baby bump. The caption says it all, “We would like to share our love and happiness.”

She continues, “We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.” The note is signed at the end with “The Carters.”

The baby bump suggests that Mrs Carter has been pregnant for a while, with some sources saying she could be as far as four months in. Others think that the public is only finding out now because of Beyonce’s usual secrecy. A few avid fan experts suggest that her Christmas slideshow on Instagram contained hints of her pregnancy within one of her poses, however it is difficult to discern the difference.

No one knows what the possible names for the twins could be as yet, or their gender(s) for now, but social media has an ample amount of helpful suggestions: mainly involving the “color plus plant” formula of the soon-to-be big sister Blue Ivy. The feedback from the news has obviously exceeded with positivity and excitement, as Bey fans anxiously await the day that the new Carter twins will defeat the Fire Nation and restore balance to the world.

On the worrisome side, some people are concerned about what this means for Beyonce’s upcoming performances, namely her headlining the second day of Coachella in April. It is a bit strange trying to imagine her executing her usual choreography with two developing fetuses slowing her down, but the fate of the festival is unknown until we hear from her representatives.

We would like to congratulate the Carters on their family planning, but would they stop with only three kids? There is a possibility she could take it one step further and have a fourth child, since it is a known fact that both Beyonce’s and Jay Z’s favorite number is 4. Their birthdays, their anniversary, their “IV” finger tattoos, even the name “Blue Ivy” all have one thing in common.

They probably want to continue that trend with the amount of kids they have, so maybe in a few years we can start this excitement all over again for Beyonce and Jay Z’s future joint album “The Carter 4.”
