Austin Poetry Slam’s Sunni Soper speaks to the crowd about the importance of being present and talking about the issue of sexual assault, as a survivor herself.

“His words began to slap me,” Soper said in her poem. “And it wasn’t long until his fists I did meet. Threw me for a loop, then knocked me off my feet.”
