Austin Cake Ball’s Pumpkin Spice cake ball is the perfect combination of all things fall in a tiny little package.

As sweater-weather approaches, many people are filled with the overwhelming urge to consume all things pumpkin. This is often done through traditional routes, including pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin bread. But regardless of what specific kind of food you want to try, it is easy to get your fair share of pumpkin this season.

Beginning on campus, at our own Jo’s, it is clear that fall fever has taken over. Pumpkin tea bread has filled the baskets, setting out to tempt eager caffeine-addicts. This bread is rather unique despite its traditional roots. The tea infused into this delicious slice of fall give the bread a moist, rich, flavor that could convert even the proudest of pumpkin-haters. Further up the line, coffee-lovers can enjoy a pumpkin spice latte that rivals the original Starbucks recipe.

If your desire for pumpkin spice is strong enough to pull you off campus, dozens of doors open up, greeting lovers of fall and encouraging this addiction.

Kerbey Lane, for example, is home to the pumpkin cinnamon roll and pumpkin French toast. As a way to add fall flair to their menu, pumpkin has been incorporated throughout it in numerous dishes. Pumpkin spice is listed as a flavor option for their beverages, along with gingerbread.

If breakfast foods are not your cup of tea, Hey Cupcake! has created The Pumpkinator, a cupcake that features graham cracker and cream cheese frosting on top of a pumpkin-spice cake. It is available at their truck just down South Congress. The Hey Cupcake! truck is a short distance from St. Edward’s on South Congress, and it was established by a St. Edward’s alumni. So go out support our alum by trying The Pumpkinator.

However, if you prefer your cake in ball form, Austin Cake Ball’s flavor of the month happens to be none other than Pumpkin Spice. Austin Cake Ball has been featured in Food Network Magazine, and for obvious reasons. Their Pumpkin Spice cake ball is the perfect combination of all things fall in a tiny little package.

Shakes are regularly associated with burgers and have been for decades. P. Terry’s and Hopdoddy accept this association and have gone as far as to include pumpkin in their shake menu.

P. Terry’s offers the Pumpkin Pie Shake this fall season, which is their classic vanilla shake blended with pumpkin spices and pumpkin syrup. The shake is completed with whipped cream and more syrup.

The legendary Hopdoddy’s offers a Roasted Pumpkin shake for pumpkin lovers this fall. This concept is extremely creative and is a great way to be adventurous with your pumpkin addiction. This shake is made with roasted pumpkin puree and graham cracker pieces. It is literally a blended pumpkin pie in a cup.

The pumpkin spice craze goes further than just pumpkin spice lattes. It is a fad that cannot be stopped, and probably never will be. This fall, be adventurous with pumpkin, because the food industry already is.
