My Gold Mask rocks the crowd at The Trophy Room for SXSW

As the venue’s crowd began to quiet down, a member of My Gold Mask band made a high pitch call, causing the audience go wild.

My Gold Mask, featuring members Gretta Rochelle and Jack Armondo, performed at The Trophy Room on Sixth Street for South by Southwest’s 25th Anniversary Music Festival.

The performance was one of the band’s many shows throughout the festival.

The band categorizes its music into its own genre, calling it “extrinsic pop,” which has an indie rock sound.

The band’s mellow-yet-catchy rhythm and Rochelle’s incredible drumming skills made for an engaging performance. Rochelle, the lead singer of the band, sang amazingly well while simultaneously playing the drums and standing throughout the whole performance.

Armondo provided backup vocals while playing his electric guitar.

My Gold Mask’s distinctive sound coming out from Chicago made the SXSW attendees give a loud and powerful applause after every song.
