Brown places third on Jeopardy, watch party hosted at Teresa

Current and former Teresa Hall residents, St. Edward’s University staff and friends gathered in Teresa Hall to watch Residence Director Christy Brown compete on the game show “Jeopardy!.” The episode, which aired Feb. 16, was filmed in December. When Brown returned from filming in Los Angeles, she couldn’t tell anyone the outcome due to her contract with the show.  “It was very hard not to crack and tell people, because some of the folks on campus were very persistent,” she said. “But I wanted to honor the terms of the contract, so I kept my mouth shut.”After a close game, Brown ended up in third place. She said she knew most of the answers, but a lot of what goes into playing the game is good timing when clicking the buzzers.  “Even though I was disappointed, I reminded myself that my ‘bucket list’ item was to appear on Jeopardy!,” she said. “I never said anything about winning.”Regardless of the outcome, the watch party attendees in Teresa Hall were supportive and enthusiastic. Anytime Brown answered a question or appeared on camera, the entire room filled with cheers. “I was blown away with how many people were there,” she sad. “It made the experience so much more exciting. I was nervous all day about seeing myself on television, but once the show started and everyone started cheering, I started to relax and breathe again. The party will undoubtedly be one of my favorite memories of Teresa Hall.”
