Creepoid, who came from Philadelphia to play numerous shows during South By Southwest, are coming out with their third full length album “Cemetery Highrise Slum” on June 23 of this year.

Despite nearly everyone’s lack of energy on Friday, one of the last days of the music portion of South By Southwest, grunge rockers Creepoid still managed to move the crowd with their gloomy, somewhat chaotic guitar riffs and 90s Sonic Youth-esque vocals.

They shared the stage at the Yahoo Yodel House off of 4th St. and Brazos with Failure, Delta Spirit and Elle King. Though Failure headlined, Creepoid’s set was the most memorable, an impressive feat given that they were relatively unknown by the audience.

One of the greatest things about SXSW is that the festival gives lesser known musicians the chance to play on the same venues as musical giants. It’s one of the best opportunities for up-and-coming artists.

The Yahoo! Yodel House opened on March 14 and held yoga, barbeque and interactive events in addition to the evening music.
