Students welcome in the school year at annual Hillfest
Hillfest had many activities like a mechanical bull, carnival rides and music from Searching for Signal.
With the setting sun creating a pink and orange backdrop, the 10th annual Hillfest at St. Edward’s University provided students with a fun way to kick off the semester. This year, as in the past, Hillfest featured live music, carnival events, delicious food and awesome raffle prizes.
Students had a variety of food to choose from, including burritos from Freebirds, pizza from Southside Flying Pizza and desserts from Amy’s Ice Cream and Tiff’s Treats. There were also several carnival rides to choose from on Main Building lawn, such as bull rides, a water gun game, rock climbing and free Segway rides.
Besides food and carnival rides, students also enjoyed music and dancing from the house DJ and from Searching for Signal, an experimental indie rock band from Austin.
“I really liked the dancing that was going on,” senior Karen Lemon said. “You had a whole row of fans trying to get on the stage. It was a very cool
