Minaj-a-Trois: A tale of two rappers, one Nicki and an invested Twitterverse

It all started with a tweet. Meek Mill tweeted the following mid-July:

“Stop comparing drake to me too…. He don’t write his own raps!  That’s why he ain’t tweet my album because we found out!”

This tweet resulted in a lot of backlash and a Twitter war almost comparable to a global, nuclear war.

The Internet generated memes and songs regarding the feud between Drake and Meek Mill. Drake retaliated with his song “Back to Back,” with a hard hitting verse that made comments about Meek Opening up for Nicki on her tour.

He raps “is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?” This in effect involved a common factor — Nicki Minaj.

Minaj has been a love interest of Drake’s for years and Meek’s current fiance.

Many say that the harsh retaliation from Drake is also fueled by his jealousy and longtime longing for Nicki’s heart. Some even say Drake feels curved by Nicki and is way more deserving of her love. But I disagree.

If Drake is a real man he should accept who Nicki has chosen to be with and fall back. He should never put Nicki in the middle of his bro-fight.

What he should’ve been focused on is squashing his and Meek’s beef before it destroys his relationship with Nicki. If she’s happy, she’s happy and he as a “man” should accept this.

On another note, Nicki claimed in an interview that she “loves” Drake but could never be with him, she says as she cringes and rolls her eyes when people talk about her and Drake being together.

She implied in the interview that Drake is too emotional and soft while Meek provides a harder manlier side that better suits her needs.

So for a second, put yourself in Nicki’s shoes — do you want a softy as a husband (always whining about how “you used to call me on my cellphone”) or a man who says what he means and means what he says?

Now no disrespect to 6 God Drake, I have loved him ever since I was 10 and watched him as Jimmy on “Degrassi” (and as the rap-god he is today), but in the matters of logic and out of respect for Nicki, he should be mature and let Meek and Nicki be.
