Crow Bar opened on South Congress this summer and has a diverse clientele.

The Crow Bar strikes a mysterious vibe with its dimly lit and old-fashioned setting. Equipped with pool tables, comfy booths, Christmas lights, and antique-like decorations, the relaxed atmosphere enables customers to sit back and enjoy the game with an ice cold beer. With Halloween approaching around the corner, the bar illustrates its spooky morale with the most impressive décor – faux spider webs hanging off chandeliers, a bloody guillotine splattered with blood, and gruesome masks. Dexter fans might even get a kick out of the table cluttered with blood-spattered, amputated body parts. On a Sunday night, the bar seemed somewhat empty apart from the exception of a life-size convict getting electrocuted. But business picks up particularly during games or on Friday and Saturday nights. The Crow Bar’s appearance may fool newcomers at a first glance, but its service, environment, wide variety of selections, and frequent drink specials vindicate its reputation as an exceptional bar in South Austin.
