On Nov. 5, the women’s soccer team hosted conference rival Dallas Baptist University for the Heartland Conference Championship. Since 2011, the championship trophy has been split 3-3 between these top two teams. This time, the hard-fought game went into double overtime and still ended in a 0-0 tie, causing penalty kicks to decide the winner. Dallas Baptist narrowly won the battle 5-4, but St. Edward’s finished the regular season with a higher seed heading into the NCAA Tournament.
