The St. Edward’s University community continues to aid those affected by the Bastrop fires.

St. Edward’s has raised $471.47 for rebuilding efforts and has donated 200 pounds of water bottles, granola bars, peanut butter and other non-perishable items, said Liza Manjarrez, assistant director of Campus Ministry.

“What recent history, Hurricane Katrina, earthquake in Haiti, tsunami, etc., has taught us is that people are often passionate about helping people after disaster strikes in the moment or in the days and weeks after.
