Nicole Williams-Quezada is a senior writing and rhetoric major with a concentration in journalism, digital media and a minor in political science. Originally from Lima, Peru, she’s stepping into her role as co-editor-in-chief of Hilltop Views this fall — her second year with the publication but first time leading the editorial team. When she’s not on campus, you can find Nicky freelancing for Tribeza and Austin Vida, writing about local restaurants and community initiatives around Austin. She also helps compile the weekly TPWD fishing report and spent her summer as a politics intern at KXAN, diving deeper into Texas politics and multimedia reporting. This semester, Nicky’s excited about amplifying student stories and using journalism as a tool for real change on campus. She’s particularly focused on expanding Hilltop Views’ Instagram reach through video-form reporting, finding new ways to connect with students where they already are.
