Howdy y'all! I'm Nina Martinez and look forward to providing you with accurate, relevant news on topics and issues around the Austin-area, Texas and the U.S. I'm a sophomore writing and rhetoric major with a concentration in journalism and minor in education. HV welcomed me with big arms my freshman year and it was then that my dream of reporting was set in stone. My enthusiasm for journalism comes from a strong connection to a search for justice in the survivor community and equal rights for POC. Aside from reporting on elections, policies and city/state-wide news, I enjoy writing about baseball and the lovely 'Stros. I hope to one day add to the growing number of Hispanic-female journalists in the U.S. One more thing: if you ever find yourself on S Lamar, I suggest you boot, scoot and boogie your way into the Broken Spoke!
